Abstract The mycobiota decomposing rice straw was investigated all over the soil under rice straw piles in Sharkia Province, east of Nile Delta, Egypt. Twenty seven straw-decomposing species belonging to eleven genera were isolated by the dilution plate method in grinded rice straw-Czapek’s agar medium at pH 6. The plates were incubated at 27°C. The most frequent genus was Aspergillus (fourteen species), and next frequent genera were ranked by Fusarium (two species) and Penicillium (two species). Each of the other genera isolated was represented by one species. |
