Abstract

The use of complement fixation test for rapid idendification of
infectious bursal disease virus in both infected bursae of Fabricii in
diseased chickens and -chorioallantoic-. membranes of infected
chicken embryos was more accurate and sensitive than agar-gel
precipitation test. Infectious bursal disease vaccines used in this study
showed significant bursal atrophy 24 days after vaccination. The
decrease in bursal weight was more significant especially after
vaccination at 10 and 15 days of age. Maternal antibodies against infectious bursal disease in baby chicks were tested at one, 10, 15 and 21 days of age, it,s percentage were 71.1%, 53.3%, 36.7% and 13.3% respectively. On the other hand the precipitating antibodies after vaccination with IBDV vaccines at 15th and 21st of age were higher than.
vaccination on the 10th day of age Quantitation of precipitating antibodies 21 days after vaccination . showed that a high titer was obtained after eye DROP vaccination than after oral and nasal methods especially vaccination after vaccillMionat 21st day of age. Complement fixing antibody titers 21 days after vaccination at 21 days of age were high through eye DROP route than oral or nasal routes of vaccination and were ranged from (1:16 - 1:32), while the complement fixing antibody titers 21 days post vaccination at 15 days of age were lower than at 21 days of age and were ranged from (1:8 - 1:16). Immunosuppression after infectious bursal disease vaccination ’was of low value with all IBD vaccines and the geometric;NDHI antibody titers were lower than the controls and ranged from 1/89-1/110 while the control one was 1/131.
The rate of protection against infectious bursal disease after
challnge test was estimated 21 days after vaccination with all IBD
vaccines and the higher protection was ..~97.8%)with D-78
IBD virus vaccine, while the lower rate of protection was (91.1%)
with IBD-BLEN vaccine the protection after other vaccines were
ranged from (93.3% - 95.6%). Estimation of serum protein fractions 21 days after oral and nasal vaccination with different IBDV vaccines at 15 days of age showed significant increase in alfa-2 glouline fractions” ,while beta-globulin fractions were significantly increased after eye drop
vaccination at 21 days of age with Wz.228 and D 78 ’IBD
vaccines and inhibited after IBD-BLEN vaccine, on the other hand gamma globulin fractions were variable, significantly increased after
D-78 and LZD.228 IBD vaccines while nearly inhibited after
IBD-BLEN vaccine used at 21st day of age through eye drop
route of vaccination.
