Abstract

85 isolates of Pa0 aeruginosa were detected from 450
dead (Faycumi) chicken—embryos collected from Governornental
and balady hatcheries at Kena Province, in additon 75, 20
isolates of the same organism were recovered 400, 100
samples of baby—chicks and older chickens respectively0 The
samples were obtained from different Governomental farms,
Pathogenicity tests in 7—days old clncken-.embryos by
yolk~sac inoculation or dipping on broth—culture of Pa.
aeruginosa proved that the organism was highly pathogenic,
with nortality rate varied from 80—to 100 %.
The experimental infection in 3—days old chicks by
different doses, revealed that the subcutaneous route of
inoculation was highly effective with mortality percent
varied from 13.32 to 100 %, while oral route and intra —
nasal infections were almost similar and the mortality rate
ranged from 0 and 6.6 %. Reisolation of the inoculated
organism, and the macro and microscopic examin4tions of the
dead embryos, and chicks were conducted,
In vitro sensitivity test of the isolated ~ ~~g~nosa
revealed that the isolates were sensitive to Garamycin,
treptomycin, Ghloramphenicol, Colistin, Anikin and Neomycin.
Moderate degree of sensitivity was reported against Nitrof—
urantion, Sulpha,methoxazole—trimethobrim, Qefoxtin, and
liqLcomycin, while the tested isolates were either week
sensitive or complete resistant to Oleandomycin, Oxytet.
racycline, Erythromycin, Ampicillin and Penicillin.
