Abstract This study aims to evaluate the role of ultrasound high Username in assessing the position of the disk in the TMJ compared with the results obtained by magnetic resonance imaging . The study included twenty patients of both sexes suffer from TMJ disorders asking for treatment at a clinic Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery . Taken from each patient’s medical history and underwent a clinical examination , and then were examined hinged jaw for each patient using magnetic resonance imaging , considering the results as criteria of reference we have then been examined those joints using ultrasound high backs and compare the results with those obtained by magnetic resonance Hadwin to evaluation of sensitivity, specificity , and accuracy of ultrasound in the detection of the position of the disk. Patients did not have any kind of treatment even carried out both imaging techniques. * Results : The results showed that no significant difference between the ultrasound high Username and magnetic resonance imaging in the evaluation of the internal imbalance in the TMJ in patients with disorders of the joint. Also showed high accuracy , especially in the closed position of the mouth . The results also indicated that the ultrasound imaging high backs , using a frequency of 12 MHz may be a reliable method in the diagnosis because it has produced promising results encourage further research . Should be included in the basic sciences and ultrasonic imaging techniques to dentists recognize the curriculum used in this process Improvements to the imaging units will allow the production of ultrasonic frequencies higher and purer that will increase the capacity of disk units to describe and improve image quality and accuracy. * Recommendation: We recommend further research using samples with Aaadadcbr and to confirm our findings and examine other technical aspects , such as cases that are given false negative results . |
