Abstract 1.The present study was performed to evaluate the minimalrequirements for vaccination of sheep against tetanus disease to secure continuous protection and to allow a reduction in the number of injections, which would be of particular benefit to the farmer. 2.Four types of vaccines were available in thisa)Fluid monovalent tetanus toxoid potencies (15, 25 and 40 Lf u/ml). b)Alum precipitated tetanus toxoid with potencies (15, 25 and 40 Lf u/ml). Each of the above mentioned vaccines was work: with different different subcutaneously in 5 sheep, in two doses, one ml, 21 days apart. c)Fluid trivalent vaccine (lamb dysentry,and tetanus) mixed in equal parts to and 40 Lf u/dose of tetanus toxoid. d)Alum precipi tated trivalent vaccine (lambpulpy kidney and tetanus) mixed in equal obtain 15, 25 and 40 Lf u/dose of tetanus injected each of pulpy kidney obtain 15, 25 dysentry, parts to toxoidEach of the above mentioned vaccines (c and d) was injected subcutaneously in 5 sheep, in two doses, each of 3 ml, 21 days apart. |
