Abstract

■The present studies were done from May 1998 until April 1999.
■The number of animals used were about 65 native cows and 60 buffaloe cows all animals examined rectally and all apparently healthy.
■The frozen semen used was produced by A.I. centers of Saka, and Abbasia.
■The semen was examined and the motility always about 50% progressive motility.
■The animals were classified into 4 groups.
■The first group (11 buffaloe cows and 12 native cows), was injected I.U. about 20 cc 3% oxytetracyclin hydrochloride two doses at three days interval before insemination and the last dose after insemination about 24 hr.
■The C.R. in these group in the green season in buffaloe cows 66.6% and in dry season about 60% and allover the year about 63.6%.
■The No. of insemination per conception in green season 2, in dry season 2, 33.
■The C.R. in case of cows in green season 85.7% but in dry season the C.R. was 80% and allover the year about 83.3%.
■The No. • of insemination per conception in green season about 2 and in dry season it was 1.75 and allover the year it was 1.9.
■The second group about, 13 cows and 12 buffalo cows. The group injected I.U. by 100 cc betadine 0.5% two doses at week interval before insemination and the third dose of 20 cc of betadine 0.5% I.0 after insemination about 24 hr, the C.R. in case of cows in green season was 71.4% but in dry season 83.3% and allover the year it was 76.9% and the No. of insemination per conception in green season 2 but in dry season it was 1.8 and allover the year it was 1.9.
■The C.R. in case of buffalo cows in green season was 57% but in dry season it was 60% and allover the year the C.R. was 58.3%.
■The No. of insemination conception in green season 2.25, but in dry season it was 2 and allover the year it was 2.14.
■The third group, (14 buffalo cows and 15 cows) was injected by 10 I.U. oxytocin intramuscular immediately before insemination, the C.R. in case of buffaloe cows in green season about 75% and in dry season 66.6% and allover the year the C.R. was 71.4%.
■The No. of’ insemination per conception in green season 1.83, in dry season 1.75 and allover the year it was 1.8.
■The C.R. in case of cows in green season it was 75% but in dry season it was 71.4% and allover the year the C.R. was 73.3%, the No. of insemination per conception in green season was 2.16 but in dry season it was 2.1 and allover the year 2.8.
■The fourth group included 21 animals 10 buffalo cows and 11 native cows these animals inseminated by thawed semen at 37°C for about 30 second the C.R. in green season in case of buffalo cows in green season 40% and in dry season 40%, and the No. of
insemination per conception in green season 3 but in dry season 2.5 and allover the year 2.75. The C.R. in case of cows in green season was 50% but in dry season 40% and allover the year 45%, the no. of insemination per conception in green season 2.66 but in dry season was 2.5 and allover the year 2.6
The first, second, third and fourth groups were inseminated by
frozen semen was thawed at 37°C for 30 sec.
■The fifth group included 14 cow and 13 buffalo cows, this group was inseminated by semen thawed and holeded in thermos
flask at 37°C for about 1/2 hr, the C.R. in case of cows in green season 85.7% but in dry season the C.R. was 57.19% and allover the year 71.4%, the No. of insemination per conception in green season 2.16 but in dry season it was 2 and allover the year 2.1.
■The C.R. in case of buffaloe cows in green season, it was 71.4% but in dry season 50% and allover the year it was 50% and allover the year 61.5%. The No. of insemination per conception in green season was about 2 but in dry season it was 2.3 and allover the year 2.12.
■from the present study the injection of oxytetracyclin, Betadine
and oxytocin and insemination by semen holded at 37°C for about 30 minutes increase the C.R. in cows and buffaloe cows.
