Abstract

In the present work biochemical studies were carried out to evaluate the effects of ponceau 4R in two doses 0.08 g/kg diet/day and 0.4 g/kg diet / day and sunset yellow in two doses 0.0 g/kg diet /day and 0.4 g/kg diet / day after 30 days (short term studies) on some body tissue constituents and enzymes activities and lipid profiles of experimental animals. The results indicated the following remarks.
-Plasma total lipids, triacylglycerols and total cholesterol were significantly decrease in the subjected rats under synthetic dyes induction than control.
-Plasma total protein was significantly increased in the subjected rats under synthetic dyes induction than control.
-Plasma albumin, globulin were significantly increased in the subjected rats under synthetic dyes induction than control.
-Plasma A/G ratio was non significantly changed in the subjected rats under synthetic dyes induction relative to control.
-The activities of plasma AST, ALT, alkaline phosphatase enzymes were significantly increased in the rats under synthetic dyes induction than control.
-Synthetic dyes induction elevated T4, T3 in the subjected rats under synthetic dyes induction than control.
-1-laemoglobin concentration was significantly increase in the rats under synthetic dyes induction than control.
-Plasma creatinine was significantly increased in the subjected rats under synthetic dyes induction than control.
-The total lipids contents was significantly lowered in the subjected rat organs (liver, brain) under synthetic dyes induction than control.
-Triacylglycerols contents was significantly decreased in the subjected rat organs (liver, brain) under synthetic dyes induction than control.
-The total cholesterol contents was significantly decreased in the subjected rat organs (liver, brain) under synthetic dyes induction than control.
