Abstract

The thesis consists of two groups. The first group is the study of the substitution of Cu2+ on the structural, magnetic and electrical properties of the formula (Co1-xCuxFe2O4, 0.0≤x≤0.6, step 0.1). The samples were prepared by the double sintering ceramic technique from high purity oxides (BDH). Stoichiometric ratios were mixed and grinded for four hours. The samples were presintered at 800 oC for 5 hours, then regrinded and pressed into pellet under a constant pressure of 5x108 N/m2 using a uniaxial press. Finally, the pellets were sintered at 1100 oC for 5 hours using rate of heating / cooling 4 oC/min. X-ray diffraction analysis indicates that all the samples were formed in a single phase spinel structure. The lattice parameter was calculated for Co2Fe2O4 which being equal to 8.39 ˚A. Also, the lattice parameter for all the samples was found to have a constant value (8.39 ˚A ± 0.001). The size of the particles was determined by Scherer’s formula, ranged between 38 nm and 51 nm.
