Abstract
This work has been carried out to investigate the effect of i/m
injection in two different doses of boldenone undecylenate on
hematological, some biochemical, immunological, histological
and reproductive parameters. Boldenone undecylenate induced
a significant increase in RBCs, PCV%, platelets count. In
addition, significant increase in ALT, AST activity levels, urea,
creatinine, calcium, phosphorus, estradiol level meanwhile,
testosterone and antibodies titre significantly decreased in both
treated groups. Also, a significant adverse effect on most semen
parameters as significant decrease in mass, individual motility, motility
index values, packed semen volume (PSV), live sperm percentage and
significant increase in the number of morphological abnormal sperms,
testes size and concentrations of testosterone in serum were observed in
boldenone treated animals. Discontinuation of boldenone administration
reversed some of these adverse effect on semen parameters. abnormal
histopathological alteration in kidneys, liver, testes and prostate
were recorded.
