Abstract

1. Preparation and characterization of two types of nanoparticles; Chitosan silver nanoparticle and poly (lactic eo- glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles containing a photosensitizer. 2. To determine the minimum inhibitory concentration of the Chitosan silver and PLGA nanoparticle required to inhibit the growth of Enterococcus faecalis. 3. To evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of the photo-thermal silver- chitosan and the photo-activated poly(lactic eo- glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles loaded with a photosensitizer for root canal disinfection in experimentally infected root canals and compare it with BioPure MT AD and Sodium Hypochlorite.
