Abstract

Soybean, Glycine max (L.) and faba bean Vicia faba L. are of the most important legume crops in Egypt and world as well. Both crops are infested by a large number of piercing - sucking insects in the field. Among of which are aphids, Aphis spp., whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Genn.); Leafhoppers, Empoasca spp. and the green stink bug, Nezara viridula (L.) which cause serious damage in both quality and quantity. The control strategy of these insects must be developed by using effective and environmentally safe measures in the integrated pest management programs. Therefore, this work was carried out at Sakha Agricultural Research Station Farm. Kafr El-Sheikh Govemorate during 2008 and 20 10 seasons to study the population densities of the piercing-sucking insects on the two crops as influenced by certain weather factors.
