Abstract This study was performed to evaluate a one year clinical follow up of two types of composite resin (silorane-based versus a methacrylate-based) in class I cavity preparation, in addition to an invitro measurement of their surface roughness before and after brushing. The study was performed in two parts. Part I (clinical study): 15 patients participated in the study (9 female and 6 male aged 20-40 years) where a total of 30 molar were restored with either a microhybride silorane based composite Filtek silorane(P90) or a Nanohybrid methacrylate- based resin composite (Tetric EvoCeram) representing two main groups (15 teeth each). Each patient received at least one pair of restorations. The distribution of material type and tooth location was randomized. The cavity design was restricted to eliminate carious tissues from primary caries lesions. No beveling was performed. Calcium hydroxide was placed in deep areas. |
