Abstract This study is a prospective clinical study that include 30 patients with locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of head and neck treated by induction chemotherapy TPF followed by concomitant chemo-radiotherapy. It was conducted at Clinical Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Department of Mansoura University Hospital over the period from August 2010 to April 2013. The overall response rate (ORR) to treatment was 90%. Median duration of CR was 20 months and median duration of ORR was 15 months. The most common grade III toxicity during IC was neutropinic fever (13.3%). At a median follow up period of 18 months (ranging from 8 to 30 months), the median PFS was 15 months while the median OS was not reached. The one year OS was 90%. |
