Abstract

Water resources in Egypt almost constant in terms of quantity, and under great pressure due -to the increase of the population. Due to the growing developmental activities that take place -at the Egyptian coast, whether industrial or agricultural or urban, which may result in residues -adversely affect the marine environment and the living animal and plant them, they focused on the Ministry of State for Environmental Affairs to follow up the quality of coastal waters Egyptian and protect the marine environment from pollution and to monitor variables emergency on coastal water quality as a result of those activities, and take corrective action in a timely manner. In this study, discussed the specifications sea water before and after the exchange of cooling water from power plants. Many scenarios have been considered for the study of water specifications, through the sea using a single computer programs CORMIX, this program has been calibrated, the sea using data was collected in the summer and winter. This study includes measuring the water density, wind speed, salinity and temperature of cooling water from power plants. from the results obtained, it was ascertained the possibility of developing a model using computer program CORMIX 8.0. was developed by Donker,R.L. and G.H.Jirka. in Cornell University. All the details of the program and its uses found in this study in the User’s manual for CORMIX (pdf) There are many variables in the specifications of the sea as a result of the different scenarios of the study. Mixing power plant wastewater, does not affect the quality of sea water specifications. The final recommendations is that the exchange is the continuation of the power plant at sea.
