Abstract

All prepared vaccines either alum or oil emulsion adjuvant univalent RVF alum gel, combined (RVF+FMD) alum gel, RVFoi1 emulsion vaccine, FMD oil emulsion vaccine and combined (RVF+FMD)oil emulsion vaccine were were protected animals against challenge with a titer
of 104 MIPLD5011 m1. of Foot and Mouth Disease Virus’and were
founD .•afe an potent with (ED
SO 0.0013/0.1 ml for
alum aQ jevant) an (O.OI/ml.) for oil adjuvant.
2- Vaccination of sheep with various prepared vaccine’ pro-.
ved that those vaccinated with oi 1 .emu lsion either untva-
lent or combined ones gives 100% AGPT starting from the 2nd
weeks while gel vaccine give 100% at the 4th week post
vaccination. Concerning NI again oil emulsion vaccine
gives a protective titer started from the 2nd week( 2.75)
CF titer was. found higher (6.0 and 5.6) than those of
sheep vaccinated with gel vaccine in the 2nd week. ~11
vaccines protected sheep against challengewitha virue1entRVF
virus( titer ofl06 TCID50/m1.) except those vaccinated with
gel vaccine 2% of virus isolated from the serum could be
recorded While the control non vaccinated groups give
a- result of virus isolation of 61.2% from serum samples,
21.4%from both nasal and faecal swabs. No lesions could
be observed on the feet and primary lesions at the site
of injection on sheep vaccinated with oil vaccine containing
FMD virus when challenge with 104 MIPLD50/m1 FMD
virus.
3- Cattle vaccinated with either RVF alum gel, RVF oil and
oil adjuvant only proved that those vaccinated with oil
vaccine gives early and higher titers than those vaccinated
with gel RVF vaccine (AGPT 20% and 0%, NT 2.5 and
CF 3.8-4.0. No antibodies could be detected in these inoculated
with oil adjuvant only.
The other groups of cattle vaccinated with FMD oil
and combined (RVF+FMD) oil ernu lsion vaccines, there was no dif- ’. I -,. .
ference in the obtained results of AGPT,NI against both RVF and
FMD and CF against RVF
Challenge against FMD in the previously mentioned groups
proved complete protection in vaccinated animals while the
control group gives primary and secondary lesions after
48-72 hours and lesions in both fore and hind limbs, also
nor rise in the recorded temperature with a period of
7 days in vaccinated groups. Regards to biochemical analysis
i n. cattle vaccinated with RVF gel and RVF oil emulsion
vaccines. It was noticed that there was no significant
change in the applied test (total protein and liver function
test). In cattle vaccinated with FMD oil and
combined FMD oil emulsion it was noticed that the biochemical
analysis of (total protein and liver function)
revealed no significant change.
from the previous results one can concluded that the
oil emulsion vaccines either RVF,FMD and combined ( RV.F.
FMD ) were superior than those of alum gel vaccine.
