Abstract
This study was conducted in the Neuropsychiatric Department on 58 patients of SAH in the period between November 2011 and November 2012. They were classified into aneurismal and non-aneurismal groups. The aim of this work was to investigate the demographic characteristics, possible risk factors, probable etiological determinant and outcome of spontaneous SAH in the studied cases. All admitted cases were subjected to: -Full medical history taking. -Thorough neurological examination including evaluation by Hunt and Hess Scale, World Federation of Neurosurgeons classification. -Neuroimaging including brain CT ’’Fisher Grade Scale classifies the appearance of SAH on CT’’, MRI and CT angiography -Routine laboratory investigations including random blood sugar, liver functions, renal functions, liver virology, blood picture and serum electrolytes. -Radiological follow up CT brain for detection of hydrocephalic changes. -Follow up of the studied patients after six months of admission date including evaluation of their clinical and functional outcome using Modified Rankin Disability Scal
