Abstract
It is well recognized that valvular lesions are widely spread all over the world and the most common forms of valvular heart diseases are mMitral and Aortic valve lesions (12). During the last 2 decades, Doppler echocardiography has emerged as the principle clinical tool for the assessment of LV and RV systolic and diastolic function and also Tissue Doppler is one of the important methods to evaluate the severity of valve lesion and to determine the time of operation for valve replacement and estimate the degree of ventricular recovery post operatively (157). In this study we tried to evaluate the ventricular functional recovery after valve replacement by using Tissue Doppler velocities and the new Tissue Doppler-derived Myocardial acceleration time during isovolumic contraction (IVA) at mitral and tricuspid annulus and we proved their relation with the ventricular functional recovery postoperatively.
