Abstract he goal of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of oxytetracycline and enrofloxacin in O. niloticus experimentally infected with Aeromonas hydrophila through studying the effect on some hematological; biochemical parameters as well as histopathological changes. During this study, a total number of 150 apparently healthy O. niloticus were used; they were divided into 6 equal groups each of 25 fish. Gp (1): was kept as normal control. Gp (2): not infected and administered oxytetracycline (55gm / kg b.wt) orally in feed for 10 successive days. Gp (3): not infected and administered enrofloxacin (2mg / liter water) for 5 successive days. Gp(4): was infected intra peritoneally(I/P) with 0.5 ml of A. hydrophila (4×108cfu /ml) and non treated. Gp(5): infected with A. hydrophila and treated with oxytetracycline (55 gm / kg b.wt) for 10 days. Gp(6): was infected with of A. hydrophila and treated with enrofloxacin (2mg / liter water) for 5 successive days. The results were summarized as follows:- Mortality rate : Administration of oxytetracycline and enrofloxacin in non infected group produced zero% and 4% respectivly. On the other hand, fish experimentally infected with Aeromonas hydrophila and non treated produced 48% mortality rate then, this percent declined |
