Abstract The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of cupping therapy as an adjuvant therapy in Smoking Cessation Program. To achieve this target, a total of 46 smokers were recruited in this study. They were selected from chest outpatient smoking cessation clinic in Giza Chest Hospital. Smokers were divided into two groups, Group I:Included 20 male smokers who were subjected to smoking cessation program according to ACA (American Cancer Association),WHO and Egyptian Ministry of Health. Group II: included 26 male smokers who were subjected to the same smoking cessation program as group I in addition to bloodletting cupping therapy as an adjuvant. Each smoker in this group received monthly cupping session for three consecutive months as an outpatient procedure. Each recruited smoker was provided with information detailing the research procedure prior to commencing the study. |
