Abstract The thesis is divided into six parts:-Part I: Introduction Includes what is mentioned in literatures about antioxidants, their types, mechanism of action and new compounds that are published in new references as antioxidants Part II: Research Objectives Includes the basics that the research is built on it and the relation between the known antioxidants and the prepared compounds. The first group is 3-hydroxyquinoline-4-carboxylic acids and the second group is 2-hydroxyquinoline-4-carboxylic acids and its derivatives. Part III: Theoritical Discussio Includes the followed schemes to prepare the desired compounds, a chemical discussion for the procedures that used for preparation and the mechanisms of action. Part IV Experimental Work Includes procedures of action, properities of the 56 compounds that prepared, separation methods and 1H-NMR and elemental analysis data. Part V Biological Screening Includes discussion of the method that used for examination of the prepared compounds as antioxidants and the obtained results Part VI References Includes list of the scientific journals and books that used during planning for this work and performing the experimental work. They are arranged according to its arrangement in the thesis. |
