Abstract

Ten completely edentulous male patients were selected from the outpatient clinic of Prosthodontic department, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Cairo University. Complete dentures were constructed for all patients. Each patient received two screw shaped implants in the canine regions, and then they were randomly divided into two equal groups. For the first group, implants were connected to the dentures through ball attachments 1 month after surgery (early loading) while the second group received their attachments 3 months after surgery (delayed loading). Radiographic evaluations were performed at distal and mesial peri-implant sites.
Results:
o
For the delayed loading protocol, there was a minute statistically insignificant increase in the peri-implant marginal bone at the different follow up periods.
