Abstract PHYSIOLOGICAL AND ECONOMICAL STUDIES ON SOME CANOLA VARIETIES IN NEW RECAMED SOIL The experiment was conducted at the experimental farm of the Environmental Studies and Research Institute, University Sadat City. This study was carried out during the periods (2009 to 2011) using six canola genotypes ( pactol , serw-4, serw-8, 28/09, 5/09 and 30/09) to investigation the following main point: Study the effects of nitrogen (30, 60 and N / feddan ) and phosphorus fertilizer levels (15, 30 and 45 kg P 2 O 5 ) on seed production , oil and protein contents of canola genotypes . 5. 1. Effect of nitrogen fertilizer levels: N itrogen in the level N gave the maximum values of days to 50% flowering (84.0 and 8 4 . 24) and delayed the flowering stage in both seasons respectively , while the lowest values of days to 50% flowering were ( 8 0 . 0 6 and 8 0 . 07) in both seasons respectively obtained by N. - Mean values of plant height were significantly affected with nitrogen fertilizer levels in both seasons, the mean values were 116.42, 130.61 and 142.26cm in the first season and 117.16, 131.32 and 143.64cm in the second season with 30, 60, N / f e d, respectively. - Number of primary branches per plant, the mean values were 10.10, 13.57 and the first season and 10.04, 13.75 and the second season with 30, 60 and 90kg N / fed, respectively. T - N umber of secondary branches per plant Table (5) as affected by nitrogen fertilizer levels, the mean values were 31.35, 43.47 and the first season and 30.63, 43.87 and the second season for 30, 60 and 90kg N / fed, respectively. The maximum number of secondary branches per plant was obtained when N / f e d were added to c anola plants. - N umber of siliquas per plant, mean values were 453.54, 561.26 and the first season, and 465.80, 586.30 and the second season and significantly affected by nitrogen fertilizer levels, where the mean values increased significantly with increasing nitrogen fertilizer levels up to 90kg N / fed. , i n both season, the increase in number of siliqas per plant might be due to the essential role of nitrogen for producing more primary and secondary branches. - Seeds per siliquas , the mean values were 23.44, 24.73 and the first season, and 23.18 , 24.14 and the second season, and significantly increased with increasing nitrogen fertilizer level from 30 to N / f e d. - The mean values of 1000-seed weight, increased significantly with increasing the nitrogen fertilizer levels from up N / fad. However, the increasing rate was not significant with increase nitrogen fertilizer level from 60 to 90kg N / fad, in both seasons. - Mean values of seed yield per plant for the studied nitrogen fertilizer levels were 33.89 , 50.10 and 61.29 in the first season and 33.48 , 49.24 and the second season. Significant differences were achieved among the three nitrogen levels, seed yield increased significantly with increasing nitrogen fertilizer levels up to 90kg N / f e d . - The highest values of seed yield in the two seasons were obtained when plants were fertilized with 90kg N / f e d, while the lowest values were obtained from 30kg N / f e d, treatment. - O il percentage as affected by nitrogen fertilizer levels it was estimated in the second year only, no either increasing or decreasing oil % significant differences among nitrogen fertilizer levels were found. The overall mean values were 36.38, 35.13 and 35.63% with increments 30, 60 and 90 nitrogen levels, respectively . |
