Abstract Introduction I Introduction and aim of the work: - The prostate is an extraordinary organ , harboring abnormalities in the majority of men over 50 . - Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia ( BPH) is a common benign proliferate disorder of any internal organ. -Prostatic adenocarcinoma ( Pea ) is a common disease of elderly men and now is the most common malignancy in males . - With the development of rectal ultrasound probes in the late 1960s and early 1970s , non - palpable prostatic lesions are diagnosed increasingly frequent in their early stages , direct systematic biopsies and determination of gland volume became easy. Transrectal ultrasonography is also valuable in the assessment of prostatitis , haemospermea and male infertility . - The aim of this work is to find out the role of transrectal ultrasonography in the diagnosis of different prostatic lesions. |
