Abstract

This thesis is concerned with modeling and analyzing of a jacket platform subjected to random realistic ocean waves. Analysis techniques were developed in the two main areas outlined in the research aims via random wave loading and foundation modeling, to develop extreme structure responses. In this chapter the main findings of the thesis are summarized, conclusions are drawn, and some possible directions for future work are presented. The modeling of offshore jacket platforms is challenging due to its complexity in a number of different areas.Only with precise modeling components can one achieve appreciable accuracy in the final result. In this thesis, several techniques have been combined to achieve what is believed to be a realistic modeling of a jacket platform.
