Abstract
Coumarins and their derivatives establish a family of dyes that are applicable in different fields of science and technology . They exhibit a strong fluorescence in UV and Vis. Regions makes them suitable to use as colorants , dye laser media and as nonlinear optical chromophores. Coumarins are sparsely used as signaling part in chelation enhanced fluorescence (CHEF) based metal chemosensors.
