Abstract

The aim of the present study is to investigate the Chemical composition and microbiological properties of Gum Arabic and the Possibility of utilization of Gum Arabic as nutritive source by giving to Chronic kidney disease patients with low protein Dit(LPD). Also,the study evaluate the role of Gum Arabic in reduce symptoms show on patients with Chronic kidney disease.In the study group, patients received a daily dose (50g) of Gum Arabic dissolved in water or natural juice equally divided into morning and evening dose of 25g they were followed up monthly for four months The result showed that, 1-Chemical composition of Gum Arabic showed that Gum Arabic contain a great amount of total carbohydrates (83.92 %) and crude fiber (38.70 %) , also contain a small amount of protein (4.30 %) , and traces of ether extract (0.67%). in conclusion, Gum Arabic was characterized by high content of fiber.
