The main question of the study is: How is Egyptian journalism Covering higher education issues?The study is based on method of social survey on a sample of higher education pages in El Akhbar(Akhbar El Gameat) , El Wafd( Madares wa Gameat ) and higher education issues in Elmasry Elyom newspaper. The number of themes have been studied were 390 in El Akhbar news paper , 540 in El Masry Elyom and 654 in El Wafd. from January 2008 to December 2012. Sample of 400 students 250 of University Professors and 50 education journalists.Results :1.The press treatment of higher education issues have been different in the three news papers . El Akhbar newspaper provided a depth discussion to important issues through it’s editorial articles. El Masry Elyoum was interested in the news coverage and El Wafd focused on reports and articles.2.El Akhbar newspaper Agenda was interested more in corruptions in the universities than the research problems . El Masry El yom focused on the stuff salaries and academic movements and El Wafd focused on impairment of academic society and the police intervention in universities.3.After 25 Jan. revolution the three newspapers focused on three main issues which are student demonstrations , police intervention in universities and the amendment of university low .4.The source of news was mainly by editor in El Akhbar and by officials in El Masry Elyom and several sources in EL Wafd newspaper.5.Education writers face many difficulties in both universities and their newspapers.
