Abstract

In this research, a full experimental test was carried out using two lengths and different percentages of fibers to utilize the reinforcement technique of fibers to enhance collapsing soil performance. Limitations, applicability of this research, conclusions and recommendations for further study are summarized here in this chapter. 6.2 Limitations It is worth mentioning that all results and conclusions included in this research work is limited to the soil characteristics included, the region of recovered soil samples and finally to the types and lengths of fibers used. 6.3 Applicability The reliability and reproducibility of any research work depends to large extent on its applicability in field. In this respect, it is important to adhere to specific proceedings in sequence to utilize fiber as a soil stabilizer in field. Initially, it is required to determine the depth of the collapsible soil layer to be improved from the soil profile, then excavating to the desired depth and extract the soil. The second procedure is drying and pulverizing soil then mixing it with the optimum fibers content by dry weight until reaching a homogenous fiber soil mixture using a suitable mixer. The last step is to compact the mixture in layers every 25 cm using a suitable compaction roller.
