Abstract The aim of the present study was divided into two parts: Part I: Biocompatibility study to: Evaluate biocompatibility of Activ GP obturation System in comparison to the conventional gutta percha, and AH plus root canal sealer. Part II: Laboratory study to: 1. Measure and compare the bond strength of glass ionomer-based ‘Activ GP Obturation System’ with conventional obturation system ‘gutta percha with AH plus sealer’. 2. Assess and compare the apical sealing ability of the ‘Activ GP Obturation System’ to that of ‘gutta percha with AH plus sealer’ . 3. Evaluate the adaptability of the newly introduced obturation system to the root canal walls under the Scanning Electron Microscope ‘SEM’. 4. Assess and compare the residual material in canals obturated with Activ GP Obturation System, with that in canals obturated with conventional gutta percha and AH plus sealer in case of retreatment. |
