Abstract Objectives: The aim of this study was to detect the incidence of most common diseases diagnosed by Fundus Fluorescein angiography (FFA) presenting to Outpatient Ophthalmology Clinic Of El Fayoum Ophthalmology Hospital from 15/6/2011 to 15/9/2011. Materials and methods: A total of 52 patients with 104 eyes were enrolled in the study. Personal, medical and previous ophthalmic histories were recorded for every patient. Fundus Fluorescein angiography was done to every case. Concurrent ophthalmological examination including visual acuity, slit lamp biomicroscopy for anterior segment examination, and fundus examination were done to every case. Results: DR was considered the most common disease affecting the examined group, as the incidence of DR was 35.6% (NPDR17.3%, PDR13.5% and CME 4.8%), and the incidence of DR in the diabetic patients was 68.5%. CRVO was the second common disease in the examined group (9.6%). There was a significant negative correlation between VA and DM, PDR, CME, CRVO, AION, and RPE. Conclusions: These data point the importance of Fluorescein angiography in the diagnosis of different disorders affecting the eye, detection of complications of different treatment methods, and in the detection of the most suitable treatment method in these disorders. . |
