Abstract Conjunctivitis is a common inflammation or infection of the membrane which lines eye lids and covers sclera it is the most common cause of red eye. Causes are bacteria, viral or allergic The purpose of this prospective, randomized clinical study is to assess the prevalence of surface eye diseases in Beni Suef population, to assess the common causes of surface eye diseases and its percentage and the effect of the new combination on surface eye diseases This combination was used on 200 eye which all were examined before the drug administration. It was found that the cases complaining from discharge were also may describe itching and burning or a gritty foreign-body sensation, moreover, all patients were examined for redness or hypereamia On follow up of these patients we found that 78.7% of cases with mucopurelent conjunctivitis were totally resolved and 4.5% of cases not resolved at all and percentage of cases with residual readness was 16.9% In allergic conjunctivitis the percentage of resolved cases to was 81% and percentage of non resolved cases to allergic conjunctivitis cases 4.8%. With the use of the combination, the percentage of residual readness to allergic conjunctivitis cases was 13.3% With Blepharitis cases the resolved cases was 66.7% and the percentage of residual readness cases to blepharitis was 33.3 % Number of completely resolved cases of Episcleritis was non (0%) and percentage non-resolved cases from episcleritis cases was 66.7% cases and 33.3% were with residual redness. |
