المستخلص The study discussed the production and consumption of pure water in Zagazig District (Study in Applied Geography). The study aims at showing the effect of geographical factors on the production and consumption of pure water and its connection with natural and human factors in the region and the extent of adaptation and integration of this connection for the purpose of covering the needs of population from this vital demand. The study resulted in revealing the suffering of the district from the unavailability of good surface in addition to the settlement of artesian stations which is not adequate to sanity distribution and ideal PH, concentration of production in urban and low quality of service on the quantitative and qualitative levels in rural areas in the District. The study is divided into seven chapters. First chapter is about the Geographical Factors that effect on the production and consumption of pure water. It handles the importance of location for the growth of the area in terms of jobs, population and construction. It also tackles the factors of surface, climate and the administration division of Zagazig District. The study tried to contribute in population, their distribution, their density, their standard of living due to its importance for the study as population is the element that is meant with extension and the production and consumption are effected by the size of population and the qualities of population. Distribution of construction, the distance between buildings, types of residences and random areas in Zagzig City are also affected. Second chapter tackles the historical development of the utility of pure water in Zagzig District. In order not to start out of no thing, the phenomenon subject of the study must be studied historically to realize the connection between production and consumption on one hand and between population and construction on the other hand. from the past we can conclude the future and the experience of the past benefits in future planning. One of the results of this chapter is that the inefficiency of production for the population increase, the inability of networks to cover the constructional inflation and the resulting accumulated inability are the reason for a defect that is hard to treat in short period. Third chapter discusses the sources and qualities of pure water in Zagzig District. By the source is meant the raw material whether it is surface like canals or groundwater such as aquifers. This chapter aims at evaluating the surface sources which are Bahr Mouis, Abou El Akhdar and Ismailia Canal and ground sources which are represented in Quaternary Aquifer. The study reveals that the best surface source available in the study area is not ideal for Abstract extension even with its good qualities. For aquifer, it has the ability to cover the needs of population, but the qualities of its water are changing from a place to another in the study area, but most of its qualities are within the permitted limits. Fourth Chapter discusses the production of pure water in Zagzig District. This chapter aims at revealing the extent of connection between the stations and the natural and human determinants and declaring the productive powers and the service efficiency for each station through recognizing the service scale for each station and the population to count the share average of every individual from production of the station in order to know the extent of ability to cover the needs of its service. The study has reached that the service efficiency declines in rural stations, including El Abbasia Water Station except for Bisha Kaid Station, while the city enjoys high service efficiency for all its stations except for Abou Amer Station- El Saiadeen Division. The study also has declared the difference between the urban and the rural areas in terms of the share average of individual from the produced water. |
