Abstract This study was carried out to record the effect of tilmicosin (1ml/L), apramycin (0.5gm/L) and their interaction on body performance, hematological, biochemical parameters and histopathological examination in addition to evaluate their efficacy on experimentally infected broilers with local field isolates of Mycoplasma gallisepticum only or with E. coli. We found an additive or synergistic interaction between them and both drugs alone or together have a safely and effective use against MG as a result of their mycoplasmacidal effect and their combination gave the best results against the mixed infection followed by apramycin, so the used drugs impact positively on the economic indicators of production. Also a significant increase in creatine kinase activity in all groups treated with tilmicosin either alone or with apramycin after the treatment course then returned to its normal levels at the end of the experiment and a significant decrease in albumin level in all MG infected treated groups than normal control group at the end of the experiment were recorded as a side effects. |
