Abstract
A shon time ago the geology of the soil and rock was the sCJence of

must deal with such problems taking into consideration the an of

The government is planning to develop the area of South Valley (Toshka)
\\ith respect to th~ industry and agriculture_ The SouL’: Valley area is
generally subjected to signiiicant interesi by many investors seeking to
construct big projects such as pump stations, open channels, powerhouses,
and ... eic. It is therefore imponant w study the geology of Ihis area to
understand the origin and nature of the existed deposits and introduce some
useful conclusions that can be helpful for fJture developmem of the region_
In the present work. 10 boreholes were carried out \\ith continuous core
sampling. Five boreholes were 100m in the depth and the other tlve were 50
min depth. Packer tests were carried out in two boreholes_
