Abstract In the present study 22 populations of Citrullus colocynthis L. were collected, from different localities in the Eastern Desert of Egypt extending from Ras Garib to the North to Shalatein and Wadi Allaqi to the South. The morphological characteristics of samples representing each population were described and the associated plant species growing in the C. colocynthis sites were recorded. Plants of each population were grown to maturity and their morphological traits were measured for genetic diversity assessment. |
