Abstract • INTRODlJCTON: - Ultrasonobrraphy is sensitive for detection and localization of a renal mass, yet, it can’t characterize it. (Platt et al.; 1992) - Doppler Ultrasonography is a useful tool to assess renal mass vascularity, with the Color Doppler Teclmique the US diagnostic accuracy is increased. (Maresca et al.; 1995) - Doppler study is recommended whenever a renal mass is encountered during sonography, since this will add only a few minutes to the patient’s study and enables further characterization of the mass. (Kier et al; 1990) • AIM OF THE WORK: is to evaluate the role of Color Doppler Ultrasonography in the characterization of renal masses and to throw light on its diagnostic value. |
