Abstract

This thesis is mainly concerned with studies related to the removal of uranium with different sorbents produced from natural water hyacinth roots, the adsorbed uranium was mainly determined using spectrophotometeric technique using Arsenazo III as indicator. Various parameters affect the adsorption efficiency of uranium such pH, initial uranium concentration, contact time, temperature were studied for each resin, each sorbent was chemically and physically analyzed to know its composition and its active function groups content. We found that the treatment and impregnation improve the efficiency of adsorption of uranium in compared with the natural resin, also the grafted impregnated resin with tri-butyl phosphate was give the highest adsorption efficiency in compared with the other resin.
