Abstract The new complexes of Indomethacine(Indo), Atenolol(Ateno) and Captopril(Capto) with Cr(III), Sr(II), Zr(IV), Cd(II), Ce(IV), and U(VI) with the chemical formulae [Cr(Indo)2(H2O)2](CH3COO).2H2O, [ZrO(Indo)2(H2O)].3H2O, [Cd(Indo)2(H2O)2].2H2O, [Ce(Indo)2(H2O)2](SO4).2H2O, [UO2(Indo)2(H2O)].2H2O, [Cr(Ateno)2(H2O)2](CH3COO).2.5H2O, [Sr(Ateno)2(H2O)2], [Cd(Ateno)2(H2O)2].H2O [UO2(Ateno)2].3H2O and [Cd(Capto)2(H2O)2].7H2O, were synthesized as solids of a colour characteristics of the metal ion in ethanol as a solvent at room temperature. The complexes were characterized through their melting point, molar conductivity, magnetic properties , elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis., 1H NMR, mass spectra, as well as thermogravimetric analyses. The results enable us to characterize the complexes and make an assessment of the bonding and structures inherent in them. All the prepared complexes contain water molecules except Sr(II)-Ateno complex and the number of bound water molecules in these complexes being different. The magnetic moments (as B.M.) of the complexes were measured at room temperature. The Sr(II), Zr(IV) , Cd(II), Ce(IV) and U(VI) complexes were found in diamagnetic characters and octahedral geometry around the metal ion but the Cr(III) complexes were found in paramagnetism with measured magnetic moment value around at 3.81 B.M. |
