المستخلص Thesis Title: An Early Intervention Program for Developing Language skills among Children with Mental Retardation accompanied by Cerebral Palsy Purpose of the Study: The current study aimed to develop some language skills using an early intervention program among children with mental retardation accompanied by cerebral palsy. Participants of the Study: The sample of the study consisted of 20 children with mental retardation accompanied by cerebral palsy, aged 6 to 10, with I.Q 50-70. These children are divided into two groups as follows: - Experimental group (4 boys, 6 girls) from Mental Development Association (Care and Rehabilitating Center of Cerebral Palsy Cases). - Control group (3 boys, 7 girls) from Life Light Center for Rehabilitating Children with Cerebral Palsy). Tools of the Study: 1- Goodenough Harris Draw a Man Test (Prepared by Goodenough-Harris and standardized by Mohamed Farghly et al., 2004). 2- Family Socio-economic Level Scale (Prepared by/ Abd Elaziz Elshakhs, 2006). 3- Language Skills Scale (Prepared by Farouk Mohamed Sadek, Gamal Mohamed Hassan Nafea & Awad Ahmed Elzahrany, 2014). 4- The Early Intervention Program (Prepared by Farouk Mohamed Sadek, Gamal Mohamed Hassan Nafea & Awad Ahmed Elzahrany, 2014). ط The Study Results: The study has revealed the effectiveness of the study program and the verification of all its hypotheses: 1- There are statistically significant differences between the ranks of mean scores of the experimental group and those of the control on the language skills scale after the treatment in favor of the experimental group. 2- There are statistically significant differences between the ranks of mean scores of the experimental group in the pre and post measurements on the language skills scale in favor of the post measurement. 3- There are no statistically significant differences between the ranks of mean scores of the experimental group in the post measurement and their ranks of mean scores in the follow-up measurement on the language skills scale.
