Abstract This research presents a parametric study and the results of analysis for studying the effect of initial imperfection on strength of corrugated web plate girders by using a nonlinear analysis on different perfect models, comparing interaction equations of buckling modes proposed earlier and investigate the design equation proposed by design manual for PC bridges with corrugated steel web 1998. We found that the interactive shear buckling equation with second order n=2 is more safe and can be used to predict the interactive critical shear stress, the design equation can be effectively used to predict the inelastic shear buckling stresses in different initial imperfection ratios. |
