Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of a Minidrama –Based program on developing third year English majors’ cultural knowledge and reading comprehension skills. There were totally 40 Students involved in this study. The students were randomly assigned into two groups: an experimental group and a control group (20 students each). The experimental group was taught in Minidrama while the control group used traditional teacher centered instruction. In addition, the participants took a pretest and a posttest specially designed for the purpose of the study. The program was conducted in the second semester of the academic year 2011/2012, two sessions a week, three hours each. Results suggested that Minidrama –based program helped significantly to enhance students target cultural knowledge and reading comprehension as the experimental group outperformed the control group significantly in the measurement of the culture knowledge test and reading comprehension test. |
