Abstract We can conclude that acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common and serious complication in critically ill patients with a higher long term and short term morbidity and mortality especially in elderly. Sepsis is the most common cause of AKI in critically ill patients. Multiple risk factors associated with occurrence and poor outcome in patients with AKI but in our study we found that age>60,presence of sepsis, thrombocytopenia <100.000,presence of oliguria, stage 3 AKI according to AKIN criteria and late nephrologist consultation were identified as an independent risk factors for unfavorable outcome on patients with AKI. |
