Abstract

Little research has been conducted into risk factors of atherosclerosis development and coronary heart disease (CHD) in young males. Coronary heart disease (CHD) remains a leading cause of death among Americans. (189)
Numerous differences exist between younger and older men and between women and men with respect to the pathology of coronary heart disease (CHD) and its incidence and prevalence over the life cycle. Differences in lipoprotein levels and lipid fractions play an important role in CHD risk. (189)
The Aim of the work is to study cardiovascular risk profile in young aged males. To verify This aim , within the activities of the Universal day of hypertension 20/4/2010 in co-operation with the Egyptian hypertension society, 161 males between 18 and 25 years old, they are students from the faculty of Commerce in Beni- Suef university who are not complaining from any cardiovascular problem before the study.
In this study we determine the prevalence of obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes mellitus and smoking their recognition and diagnosis. Patients included in the study were subjected to careful history taking including ( age, smoking or not ) and physical examination. Assessment of vascular risk factors of the study group by measuring of hight ,BMI ,Waist circumference, Blood pressure and venous samples drawn for Total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL-cholesterol , HDL-cholesterol and random blood sugar.
Results of current study revealed that Anthropometric parameters( like weight, BMI, waist circumference) show more prevalent than other like lipid profile and blood pressure. These Anthropometric indices present us with an excellent opportunity for large scale cardiovascular risk reduction strategies.
