Abstract This study was carried out on 210, one day old chicks for 6 weeks to study the effect of dietary supplementation of 0.5,1% citric acid, o.1,0.2% benzoic acid and 0.05%,0.1% enzyme preparation on broilers. Our work revealed growth promoting effect by increase body weight and weight gain, improved FCR in the group fed 0.05% panzyme allover the experimental period. Biochemical investigation showed significant increase in the total proteins, globulin, glucose and calcium, and decrease in AST activity, creatinine and cholesterol in the 0.05% panzyme group. While ALT activity, albumin, uric acid and phosphorus showed non significant changes. Immunological investigation in the 0.05% panzyme revealed significant leukocytosis and lymphocytosis, increased globulins, IL6 and TNF-α, with decreased IL10, TBC and coliform count. For the organic acid groups, there were decreased body weight, total proteins, globulin, phosphorus, IL6, TNF-α and lactobacilli count, while showed increased IL10, TBC and coliform count. |
