Organizational Culture as a mediator variable in the relationship between Intellectual Capital and achievement of Competitive Advantage in the Hospitals Sector in Yemen
Introduction
Most organizations currently focus on the development of intellectual capital as a way to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction and retention under existing competition. Appropriate organizational culture emerges as one solution and a relatively recent administrative approach to exploit the intellectual capital, which is an important source that needs to be addressed by the management for its many benefits for the organization mainly to maintain the experiences of the organization and accumulation of knowledge, and to achieve competitive advantage.
Problem
The research problem came out from the daily life suffering of a large sector in Yemen responsible for building and assisting the community represented by the Yemeni health sector which sums up the problem in a limitation of the organizational culture prevailing in hospitals under the study, which may be a major obstacle to the development of intellectual capital from one side and then weakening the capacity to achieve a competitive advantage to these hospitals from the other side.
Therefore, the problem of the study can be identified and clarified in the following questions:
1. What is the nature of the relationship between dimensions of intellectual capital and achievement of competitive advantage in hospitals of Yemen?
2. What is the nature of the relationship between dimensions of intellectual capital and organizational culture in hospitals of Yemen?
3. What is the nature of the relationship between organizational culture and achievement of competitive advantage in hospitals of Yemen?
4. Does the strength or direction of the relationship between intellectual capital under study and achievement of competitive advantage change as a result of the introduction of organizational culture as a variable and mediator on the direct path of this relationship?
5. What is the perception of those in charge of the studied Yemeni hospitals on the importance of the relationship between intellectual capital and achievement of competitive advantage.
