Abstract
Potato crop is considered one of the most important vegetable crops in Egypt. where is cultivated annually in three lugs (Winter, Nile and Summer).Total cultivated area with this crop in Egypt, 450.000 feddan and the estimated quantity of haulm potatoes is about 1.575 Tg with an average of 3.5 Mg/feddan of haulm potato. Field crop residues have become an urgent problem for the Egyptian farmer. To get rid of this trouble, these residues have being burned in open by the farmers. This matter causes environmental disaster and dangerous healthy problem. Potatoes haulm amount represents 8 – 9 % of the total residues (18-25 Tg annually).
