”Philosophy of Art of Stephen Davies”
This research dealing with Stephen Davies’s Philosophy of Art
and how he made with his philosophical views an add value to our
world of today. Davis in his philosophy discovered a new dimension
of art, and the relationship between art and the different faces of
human thoughts and activities. Moreover; Davies explained from his
Aesthetic point of view the past contributions of the greatest
philosophers such as Plato, and this was the main motivation which
led me to dedicate this work to him.
The new approach that we can find in Davies works is his unique
analytical thought of the definition of art as a principle in which the
noblest values of life can find a meaning. Davis maintained in his
books the need of art view as an essential need to all human beings
in world full of non-spiritual value and where man can finds no
meaning of his whole life.
Davies lectured in different universities and institutions from
Australia to England and in the United States. Also, he has awarded
numerous positions and he has led the aesthetic associations.
Art in Davies views have an ethical and social rule which can be
denied, and this question is the central case in aesthetic world. Arts
also can be a measure of nation’s development. Art is a tool to
develop man in all sides whether mental, ethical or emotional
