Abstract This thesis comprises four chapters, the first of which deals with general review on the synthesis and spectral properties of aromatic orthohydroxy azomethine compounds special attention has been directed to demonstrate the tautomeric behaviour as well as acid base properties of these classes of compounds the effect of solvent on the equilibria between different tautomeric forms has been reviewed. Both intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonding have beenalsodemonstrated. This chapter also includes the aim of investigation and statement of the problem. |
