Abstract The pathogenic nature of certain species of fungi to plants has been observed virtually since the beginning of agriculture various types of fungi are common and widespread throughout the environment and recognized to be a major agriculture problem there is a long standing histry of toxicosis associated with the consumtion of fungus infected cereal grains by people or their domestic animals during periods of adverse economic conditions for example it has been found that the ingestion of these plant pathogens result in the death of 100.000 turkeys 14.000 ducking and thousands of partridge and pheasant poults in England rodricks et al 1977. |
