Abstract

ecently, there have been much efforts to develop a source of protein independent of agricultural land use. Owing to a shortage of protein for animal feed and the disposal pro- blem of animal wastes, attempts have been made to produce single-cell protein from these wastes Solar energy is used by green plants to synthesize organic compounds,i.e., sugar, starch, cellulose, lignin etc... part of this biomass represents food production. Another part serves in providing materials for housing, clothing and other purposes; and other part ends as waste Reason dictates that the time must come when animal wastes, including those of man, can no longer be treated as a nuisance. They must be recycled to useful products. Two factors, amongst perhaps a longer list that threaten to eventually curtial the progress of man, are the supply of energy and food. These would be likely products of waste recycling. In recent years there has been a flurry of act.
